We reckon Live Red Art was a massive success...around 500 people attended, 80 artists expressed their interest in being part of it, and we think it was a beautiful community show that articulated creative ideas for social justice.

There's just on question on our minds though: What next?

Hey there,

We did it! The inaugural Live Red Art festival and exhibition on Sunday went off, and we feel like we've started something pretty special and filled a gap in the art community. It was raw, real, informal, grassroots and everything a so-called "real", commercial gallery isn't.

Thanks so much to you all for expressing interest in Live Red Arts, special thanks to the artists that submitted their work. Live Red Arts is shaping up to be a spectacular event!

But now we need your help for the event to maximize its full potential.

Fuji Collective will headline a free gig at the Live Red Art Awards and Festival after party on Sunday October 17th.

The group will bring their community-minded, independent brand of big-band soul, funk and unpredictability to the grassy lawns of the Addison Road Community Centre for a spring-time evening of socially conscious and politically radical music and art.

Newcastle hip hop act Dhopec will perform a 45 minute political hip hop set during which a 1200mm x 4800m aerosol artwork will be created. Dhopec unites activists and inspires the socially conscious to

The Live Red Art Awards and Festival has announced the finalists for it's inaugural show. The Live Red Art project is set to be a fearless, inspiring convergence of all those who are Interested in the collision of social change and jaw-dropping art. Live Red Art, will be held 11am -7pm , Sunday October 17 Addison Rd Community Centre, 142 Addison Rd Marrickville.
